Triangle Area Animation
Visualize how the area of triangle ABP changes as point P moves around square ABCD
Position of P:
A
Area of ABP:
0
Time:
0
Area vs Time Graph
A→B
B→C
C→D
D→A
How it works
Point P moves at constant speed along the edges of square ABCD in the order A → B → C → D → A.
The area of triangle ABP depends on the height from P to the base AB:
- A → B: P is on AB, so the area is 0
- B → C: Height increases linearly, so area increases linearly
- C → D: Height stays at maximum (side length), so area is constant
- D → A: Height decreases linearly, so area decreases linearly
